Does God Use Natural Disasters to Punish Mankind Today?

The Bible sheds light on whether God sends natural disasters to punish mankind today and on what is behind the sufferings that so many experience. This can be done by examining the patterns provided by the Scriptures, which patterns involve a couple of events in the past that have to do with flood and drought.

We will take note of three things that God has provided when he used natural forces to execute his judgments:

1. a warning
2. a reason
3. protection for obedient worshippers

All of these will be considered HERE.

"WHY?" - Answering The Hardest of Questions

"Why?"

Just one word and yet may be packed with much anguish and pain.

Here are some expanded questions being asked by many throughout the world:

“Why did you do this to us, God? What did we do to upset you?”

“Where was God? And if God has ultimate control, why did God let this happen?”

“Why did God allow her to die?”

The link below gives enlightenment about this by showing divinely inspired answers to such questions.

Natural Disasters - Is God Responsible?

"God is love." - 1 John 4:8

“The Rock, perfect is his activity, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness, with whom there is no injustice; righteous and upright is he.” - Deuteronomy 32:4

"Many view natural disasters as divine punishment. One columnist described a devastating hurricane as 'the fist of God.' In the United States, some religious leaders described events like Hurricane Katrina as 'God’s wrath' on 'sin cities.'"

Are such claims correct? Is God responsible for all these natural disasters?

How can we reconcile such views with the Scriptures above concerning God's qualities?
